Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine

The city of Dnepropetrovsk is the third largest city in Ukraine. It is situated on the river Dnepr in the Central part of Ukraine. Its population is about 1.2 million. Large and it is a beautiful city, it is the main city of Central-East Ukraine. Dnepropetrovsk, simply Dnepr, as it is called by local inhabitants, is a dynamic and alive city. The city is famous for its deep history, commercial and industrial peculiarities, a developed educational base and its beautiful nature, the wide and slow Dnepr river, green hills, remarkable embankments, long boulevards and wonderful parks.

However, let us leave the history to historians all the more that nothing in it has passed without leaving a trace or in vain, and as to the present generations, they cherish first of all that what they posses now. For that kindness and friendliness that account for Dnepropetrovsk warmth, emanate not only from miraculous energy of earth but also from the open soul, generous heart, wonderful age-old traditions and rites of the people who has been living here. Dnepropetrovsk is also appearing with its unique beauty. Picturesque banks of the wide Dnipro have on them bustling avenues, boulevards and unique parks, universities, sport constructions, restaurants and casinos. In the city center situated the Shevchenko Musical Drama Theatre founded in 1919 as the first national theatre of Ukraine, an Opera house, the Gorky Russian Drama Theatre, the Theatre for children and Youth, The Puppet Theatre, The Theatre of One actor. The collections of Museum of Art comprises more than seven thousand exhibits including works by eminent European, Russian and Ukrainian painters. By its layout and architecture Dnepropetrovsk is not inferior to the best European cities as it was planned and built by several generations of talented architects and town-builders. .
